1. How much experience do they have and how long have they been in business?
A great DJ will have years of experience and ideas to help you make your night memorable.
2. When I call a service do I get the DJ I actually talk too or someone else from the service?
This is VERY IMPORANT a lot of times when you call a service they tell you that the service has many years of experience, but that means the service has lots of experience or some DJ within the service, not necessarily the DJ they send to your event, ask to sit down with the actual DJ and pick his brain to see what knowledge and ideas he has.
3. Do they play requests?
DJ’s that have been in the business for a lot of years should have the music library to easily play 90% of the requests from you & your guests. You have guests of all ages make sure your DJ is capable of playing to any age group.
4. Do They Use Down Loaded Music
Your DJ should either have the proper licences to be able to use Down loaded Music or Burnt Copies of CD’s or have all original CD’s (no Down Loads), otherwise you run the risk of heavy fines and having your event shut down due to copyright infringement. AVLA (Audio-Video Licensing Agency) do have agents that go from hall to hall checking for illegally acquired music.
Also downloaded music doesn’t always carry the same quality as an actual store bought compact disc; you are paying for quality music a good DJ should have just that!
